A GR version of the bZ4X could appear

At the last Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota unveiled a black bZ4X Sport Concept with red brakes and calipers. Also, the letters GR, which stands for Gazoo Racing were placed on the grille. Another clue, during an interview with the media Move Electric that Daisuke Ido, chief engineer of the bZ4X hinted that Toyota has the idea of ​​developing a high performance version of the bZ4X.

What does GR stands for
The letters GR stand for Gazoo Racing, which is Toyota's motor racing team and vehicles with this emblem are part of Toyota's high performance lineup. We can count in the GR range, the Supra, the GR86, as well as the GR Corolla which are all three high performance models.

What could we expect?
This bZ4X GR would be the first electric SUV to get a high-performance version and could be equipped with the Lexus RZ electric motors which develop 308 horsepower, unlike the motorization of the bZ4x which develops 214.
On the other hand, Daisuke ido mentioned that modifications will have to be made so that the bZ4X can proudly wear the GR emblem. The brakes, the suspension elements and the structural rigidity will have to be improved, among other things, so that the level of performance is up to par.

For the moment, we do not yet have confirmation from Toyota, but we know that the wish to develop the GR range is in the plans.
