Discovering the 2023 Prius Prime

Toyota comes back with a transformed and elegant version of its compact car; the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime! This hybrid vehicle offers us, among other things, a new sportier design, an enhanced fifth-generation hybrid powertrain, and an increase in electric range of more than 50%. Powerful and fuel efficient

The 2023 Prius Prime is equipped with a 2.0L combustion engine and a hybrid system that has been perfected to increase net power by 60%. Indeed, the power increases from 121 to 196 horsepower, while its torque increases by 16% from 120 to 139 lb-ft. The all-wheel-drive system is also improved with a 50% torque gain in the rear electric motor.

In terms of fuel consumption, the Prius Prime increases in power, while remaining fuel efficient. Its combined consumption is therefore 4.8 L/100 km.

Interestingly, it is possible to activate the EV mode, which allows driving in electric mode over short distances with favorable conditions depending on the level of battery charge. This is a particularly useful mode in parking lots and underground garages.

Sporty and stunning

The Prius Prime 2023 has a sporty new design with an elegant silhouette while having a modern, progressive and intelligent style. Its 19-inch wheels not only offer an athletic appearance, but also improved performance and handling. Note that the roof line is lowered by 50 mm and that its rear part is widened by 22 mm compared to the previous generation, in order to give it a sportier look.

In order to improve aerodynamics, grille shutters optimize the air intake at the front and contribute to cooling. In addition, stabilizer panels are located under the bodywork and are intended to reduce drag and road noise.
