The Toyota Crown is finally back in Canada

It is after more than 50 years of absence that the Toyota Crown returns to Canada with its model of the year 2023. Officially unveiled on July 15th, this new sedan benefits from a bold design, top-of-the-range comfort range and an elevated height.

Three versions available and two hybrid powertrain options
Indeed, the Toyota Crown will be available in three versions: the XLE, the Limited and the Platinum. As for the powertrains, two options will be available.
First, we have the HYBRID MAX system, which will be exclusive to the Platinum trim and is Toyota's all-new high-performance hybrid package. This 2.4L turbo engine will develop 340 horsepower and will be paired with a 6-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission to offer the sportiest driving experience. In addition, Toyota estimates a combined city/highway fuel consumption of 8.4 L/100 km.
Secondly, the XLE and Limited versions will be entitled to the fourth generation of the Toyota hybrid system, commonly known as THS, which is equipped with a 2.5 L block and two electric motors. The power developed will be 236 horsepower. This hybrid system is equipped with a high-efficiency bipolar nickel metal hydride battery that was recently developed. It offers the possibility of achieving a combined city/highway consumption of 6.2 L/100 km.
Note that all three versions of the Toyota Crown will be equipped with the advanced electronically controlled AWD on demand system.

A bold style
The exterior of the Toyota Crown has a unique and sporty style that makes it look great. Thanks to its raised overall height that the driver and passengers will have better visibility of the road and that it will be easier to enter and exit it.
Its aerodynamic silhouette, as well as its well-defined body lines give it a unique appearance, without neglecting its performance.
Note that the Platinum version will have standard 21-inch 10-spoke machined alloy wheels with black accents, as well as a new exclusive two-tone paint option. The Limited and Platinum versions will benefit from a panoramic roof, ambient LED lighting and genuine leather seats.

A haven inside
Tranquility and conversations with all passengers will be possible thanks to the high-resistance TNGA-K platform designed to counter the intrusion of noise into the cabin and maximize comfort. In addition, the Toyota Crown will be equipped among other things with heated power front seats in SofTex and fabric, an 11-speaker JBL audio system and rain-sensing wipers.

A brand new multimedia system
The 2023 Toyota Crown will be able to take advantage of Toyota's all-new multimedia audio system that comes with connectivity and convenience features like cloud-based navigation, as well as two 12.3-inch screens. In addition, the standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system, which includes a suite of advanced safety systems with enhanced detection capability will be included with all trim levels.
